portrait of Jazz

Sorry mrs mildonian, I think I can't stick on portfolio drawing. I want to change my concentration to 2D.
This is my friend Jazz and the idea of the square is from Andy Warhol again. I took pictures right before I start some extrem variations that could mess up the whole painting. Please leave comments for the feedbacks.
Thank,
Aaron

This is the first piece in my concentration centering around how clothing reflects human actions or emotions. The photograph isn't very good and I'm not really sure what to do with the placement. Any ideas about arrangement and/or how I could make it come across better in a photo? - Josie

this is my first illustration of Tam Lin. I'm trying to decide what to do with the background. I'm considering cutting it out and pasting it onto a black background. Any ideas?

These are two items from my concentration. The first is supposed to convey sadness/loneliness and the second is supposed to convey stress/anguish. Please tell me what you think! Don't worry, happier emotions will follow.

Letter-writing concentration

These are both rubber-block prints for  my concentration.  I may use the hand one as a separate piece but the stamp will be layered on several "letters" in other pieces.  When I do another print of the stamp, it will be in red like they are on real letters.

My concentration is a personification of all the Western zodiac signs. I did Taurus first because the piece was originally supposed to be a practice run, but I liked it so much I decided to paint and finish it. I am now preparing to do the background--is there anything I should change beforehand?

Jazz

This work is based on Lucy Thomas's 'body language' concentration sketch.

I personally really liked the sketch and decided to paint her work playing with different colors. I know that this could not be included as my concentration work since its lucy's sketch and 2D but whatever, i enjoyed painting this.

Guidelines

Critiquing is an important tool in visual art. This blog has been created as part of a school assignment and should be treated as such and normal school standards will apply to this site. This is a place for us as a group to offer constructive feedback to our peers.

In conjunction with your sketchbook requirements this semester you will be required to upload your current art. This may be completed work, sketches etc. Each week you will need to look at your classmates art and and offer feedback. Consider both a recommendation and commendation.

Remember that you are investigating a specific visual idea.
This A.P. Studio Art course expects you to achieve at a college level. During the Spring semester, each student will work on the Concentration section of the portfolio. Each of you will select a strong visual idea and work independently to produce a series of 12 (8 for 3D) pieces based on this critical idea.
