emma arata portrait.

My 6th piece, Emma Arata's portrait.
The colors i was thinking of came out pretty well. And the picture does look like Emma as well. These are the things i am satisfied with. But I feel like it needs something more. Her body position is wierd in the painting. It is because I just changed her body and made it look awful. The original picture of her has this strong feeling of body postion. On the other hand, my painting body has kinda weak feeling of body postion. The shadow that surrounds her neck doesn't look that natural as well. I couldn't go further to make it look realistic since i am now sticking to 2D. Egon Shielle was one strong inspiration for me to paint this. His use of colors was very outstanding and NOT contrasting. I tried to make the red to be the only contrasting color but the rest, i wanted to look very resembling. Also as usual, andy warhol's contrasting color use like red hair and lips was helpful.
soo how could i improve this painting?

brown bag mess
The top isn't completely finished yet, but it is fixable. Im not sure I like the bottom, i like the splatter a lot but I'm not sure I like the way it looks when it is on someone. also I am not sure how I am going to attach the top to the bottom. It needs a lot of work.
krista will be modeling this dress.
BabyDoll Dress
Wedding Dress
blah blah.
thanks :)
kitty bee.
Here are my first three pieces (not in sequential order). I like the first two pieces but I'm trying to figure out how to fix the girl riding the lion. She doesn't look quite as real as I'd like. I'm also working on finding ways to tell the story of Tam Lin without words. It's harder than I thought it would be; the story's complicated and not very well known. Does anyone have any ideas?

sketchh

after lots of try outs, i finally caught emma arata in my sketch book.
I am going to paint her hair cherrish red with blue eyes. then gonna put her in a dark black background with super white skin. This will hopefully emphasize her strong hair color and blue eyes. we will see! im really excited about it and about to crack on it on my 16x20 canvas. not sure how im going to draw exactly the same on the canvas... but maybe my 20th tryouts will help out well. the final piece will be posted by this weekend.

portrait of mom and dad
Found a picture of my parents when they were in honeymoon. Found the picture very interesting and wanted to express it in different colors. purple shows my dad's relaxed and very calm characteristic and orage represents my mom's passionate and benevolent characteristic.
I connected mom and dad with green colored square to make the painting look more interesting and contrasty.
